Jellystone Park™ PA Wilds
Mansfield, Pennsylvania
71 RV Sites, 34 Cabins, 3 Tent Sites, 1 Onsite RV/Trailer
Pennsylvania's Wilds region is aptly named — a 12,000-square-mile expanse of north-central wilderness where elk roam open meadows at dusk, the Pine Creek Gorge drops 1,000 feet through a canyon sometimes called Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon, and the dark skies overhead have earned the region designation as one of the most significant dark sky preserves in the eastern United States. Jellystone Park™ PA Wilds in Mansfield puts families at the edge of all of it on 100 beautifully scenic acres, with a full resort's worth of activities to anchor the camp experience while the wild country beckons just beyond the property.
The campground offers tent sites, full-hookup RV sites, and cabins across its 100-acre grounds. Full water, sewer, and electric connections are available at RV sites, and the propane station on-site keeps self-sufficient campers stocked. A camp store carries essentials, while the on-site laundromat and renovated shower and restroom facilities support comfortable extended stays. Golf cart rentals let families navigate the property without constant back-and-forth on foot. The campground is pet-friendly and ADA-compliant, with accessible facilities throughout.
The park's activity lineup is built for families with children who want constant engagement. A swimming pool and water splashground anchor the warm-season recreation, while two jumping pillows deliver the kind of sustained entertainment that wears out even high-energy kids. Mini train rides, a carousel, and wagon rides add a classic, nostalgic flavor. Two full playgrounds ensure there's always a space to climb and run. Mini golf provides multi-generational competition, and organized meet-and-greet sessions with Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, and the Jellystone cast of characters are appointment entertainment for younger campers.
Leonard Harrison State Park and Colton Point State Park, both sitting on opposite rims of Pine Creek Gorge, are premier hiking destinations within the PA Wilds. The view from the Leonard Harrison overlook is consistently ranked among Pennsylvania's most dramatic vistas. Pennsylvania elk country — centered on Benezette and the Elk County Visitor Center — is reachable for guided viewing excursions during the September-October rut, when bulls bugle through the meadows at sunrise. Tioga State Forest, surrounding the park on multiple sides, provides nearly limitless hiking, fishing, and mountain biking terrain.
Jellystone Park™ PA Wilds operates from mid-April through late October, covering the full camping season of the northern Pennsylvania climate. Summer brings the widest range of activities and the heaviest family traffic. Fall is an argument in its own right — the foliage in the PA Wilds puts on one of the Northeast's finest shows, and the quieter campground atmosphere of September and October suits travelers who prefer their outdoor experiences with fewer crowds. Book early for summer holiday weekends and elk-viewing season in the fall. The PA Wilds region is one of Pennsylvania's great outdoor treasures, and Jellystone PA Wilds provides the kind of comfortable, activity-rich base camp that makes multi-day wilderness exploration practical for families of all ages.
