Eagles Nest RV Park

Weatherford, Texas

22 RV Sites

On the Mineral Wells Highway (US-180) in Weatherford, Texas—in Parker County where the Palo Pinto Mountains' rugged limestone and sandstone ridges create the most dramatic terrain west of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and where the adjacent Mineral Wells State Park and the National Museum of the Pacific War provide the outdoor recreation and historical interpretation that give the western Parker County corridor its distinctive character among DFW's accessible day-trip destinations—Eagle's Nest RV Park offers 30 full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp electric, water, and septic service on spacious gravel pads accommodating rigs over 40 feet, WiFi, restrooms, showers, and laundry, beautifully arranged along a winding hillside road where each site delivers the panoramic western Parker County views that the elevated position above the Palo Pinto foothills provides in a privately owned park whose immediate adjacency to Mineral Wells State Park and the Vietnam War museum makes it the most strategically positioned small campground in the DFW western corridor. Thirty sites. Hillside views. Mineral Wells State Park next door. All 30 sites are full hookup with 30 and 50-amp electric, water, and septic connections on spacious gravel pads sized for the longer rigs that the 40-plus-foot accommodation capacity serves. The winding hillside road's site arrangement provides each position with the elevated views and the separation that a small, privately owned campground on the Palo Pinto foothills can deliver—the panoramic western views over the Parker County landscape create the sunrise and sunset experience that the flat-country DFW alternatives cannot replicate. Clean restrooms, showers, laundry, and WiFi provide the practical daily infrastructure for the overnight and extended-stay guest. The leash-required pet policy serves the traveling dog owner without the fenced dog park infrastructure that larger parks maintain. Weatherford sits in Parker County on I-20 and US-180 at the western edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, known as the Cutting Horse Capital of the World for the reined cow horse competition the Parker County equine community sustains. The Doss Heritage and Culture Center downtown documents Parker County history, including native daughter Mary Martin and the peach orchards whose sweet fruit the county celebrates at the summer Peach Festival. Mineral Wells State Park, immediately adjacent to the campground on the park's western border, protects 3,282 acres of Palo Pinto Mountains terrain with 12.8 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, Lake Mineral Wells' swimming beach and paddling access, equestrian trails, and the rock climbing on the park's sandstone and conglomerate formations. The National Museum of the Pacific War, directly across US-180, is the most comprehensive museum dedicated to the Pacific Theater of World War II—the Admiral Nimitz Museum, the Bush Gallery, the Pacific Combat Zone outdoor exhibit, and the Japanese Garden of Peace create the six-acre complex commemorating the Pacific campaign. The historic Baker Hotel in downtown Mineral Wells, 4 miles west, provides the 1929-era resort hotel whose restoration project documents the Texas wellness resort tradition that Crazy Water's mineral spring drew health seekers to from the 1880s. Eagle's Nest RV Park operates year-round in Parker County's moderate North Texas climate, where the four seasons deliver the spring wildflower roadsides, the summer heat that the elevation and the western breezes moderate slightly relative to the DFW valley floor, the fall hunting season that activates the Palo Pinto and Parker County white-tailed deer culture, and the mild winters that make year-round operation in western DFW genuinely practical. Reserve your hillside site at Eagle's Nest and let the Palo Pinto views, Mineral Wells State Park next door, and the National Museum of the Pacific War across the highway make western Parker County the overnight that the DFW western corridor has earned.
