Saylor RV Park
Graham, Texas
8 RV Sites
Saylor RV Park provides a quiet, well-maintained full hookup camping option in Graham, Texas—the Young County seat in the Cross Timbers region of north-central Texas where the rolling post oak and blackjack oak woodland of the Cross Timbers landscape transitions into the limestone Palo Duro terrane of the Brazos River drainage. Graham's position 18 miles north of Possum Kingdom Lake and in the immediate vicinity of the Brazos River's western reaches makes Saylor RV Park a practical staging base for the fishing, boating, and water recreation of one of north Texas's most scenic and productive lake and river environments.
All sites provide full hookups with 30 and 50-amp electric service, water, sewer, and complimentary WiFi, with big-rig-friendly pad dimensions and a pet-friendly policy accommodating traveling animals. An on-site pond provides a quiet fishing experience within the campground property itself, and laundry facilities and clean restrooms with hot showers handle the multi-day stay logistics. A river and creek nearby within the park's vicinity extend the fishing and wildlife watching options beyond the campground pond. The management's emphasis on cleanliness and guest comfort gives Saylor the character of a well-run small-town Texas park that prioritizes the fundamentals of RV camping over resort-scale programming.
Graham is one of the more historically intact small cities in north-central Texas—the Young County Courthouse square anchors a downtown district of century-old commercial buildings surrounding the classic Texas courthouse in the center of the town square, a civic arrangement that was standard across Texas county seats through the twentieth century but has been compromised by commercial redevelopment in many comparable communities. The World's Largest Rattlesnake Roundup, held in Graham each March, draws tens of thousands of visitors from across the state and country to what has become both a livestock event and a cultural tradition since its establishment in the 1950s, though the festival's character has evolved considerably as attitudes toward rattlesnake collection have changed.
Possum Kingdom Lake, 18 miles south, is one of the most scenically dramatic reservoir environments in Texas—the Possum Kingdom Gorge, where the Brazos River cut through the Palo Pinto limestone before impoundment, creates the steep, clear-water lake environment that distinguishes PK from the turbid, flatland reservoirs that characterize most Texas lakes. The striped bass (striper) fishery in Possum Kingdom is considered one of the best in Texas, with fish regularly exceeding 15 pounds in the lake's deep, clear water, and the bass, crappie, catfish, and white bass populations round out the angling options. Possum Kingdom State Park, on the lake's western arm, provides public camping, swimming, and hiking access.
Saylor RV Park operates year-round in the north-central Texas climate where the Cross Timbers' moderate temperatures and the Brazos River corridor's outdoor recreation make it a viable camping destination in most seasons. Spring fishing from March through May targets the spawning activity that drives maximum bass and crappie action on Possum Kingdom, and the fall period from September through November provides the second peak with cooler temperatures and the striped bass blitz fishing that concentrates on the lake's open water in October. The Graham Reservoir, north of town, provides additional fishing access for species including largemouth bass and catfish in a smaller, less pressured lake environment than Possum Kingdom.
