Bridgeport Reservoir and the East Walker River hold some of the state's best trout water, Bodie's ghost town sits east, Travertine Hot Springs is minutes away, and Yosemite's Tioga Pass entrance and Mono Lake are both south. Summer and fall are the season in the Eastern Sierra, with trout opener in late April drawing anglers. Reserve well ahead for June through September.
