Fishing, hiking, biking, birding, and hot springs are all accessible from the area, with skiing nearby in season. The campground sits on Highway 182 near Bridgeport in Mono County's high eastern Sierra country, with the Sawtooth Range across the valley. Bridgeport Reservoir and the East Walker River hold some of the state's best trout water, Bodie's ghost town sits east, Travertine Hot Springs is minutes away, and Yosemite's Tioga Pass entrance and Mono Lake are both south. Summer and fall are the season in the Eastern Sierra, with trout opener in late April drawing anglers. Reserve well ahead for June through September.
