Nestled in the beauty of Litchfield Hills in Bantam, CT, Cozy Hills Campground welcomes all types of camping enthusiasts. Whether you are looking for a place to stay for one night, a weekend or the six month season we can accommodate! Bring your own tent, trailer or even large motor home, or perhaps camp the easy way and rent one of our ten RV’s or Cabins! Spend your time with us enjoying the wooded campground facilities, entertainment investigate all the diverse attractions that are available in the northwest corner of Connecticut! While the property FEELS like camping, it is loaded with well-maintained amenities, from outdoor laser tag, fishing ponds, in-ground pool, arcade, restaurant, store, pavilion, to the playground and so much more! History: The Cozy Hills property was originally owned by helicopter great Igor Sikorsky. Around 1950 Sikorsky donated the property to the Girl Scouts. They camped here for approximately 20 years, and then sold the facility as they grew weary of maintaining the facility. Purchased by the Dauphinais family, they turned it into a campground in 1963. The campground changed hands several times and was even closed for 10 years! It briefly operated as Looking Glass Campground. The late Duane Caldwell purchased the grounds in 2007 and energetically set reestablishing it as a campground. Duane made incredible progress and operated Cozy until his passing in 2013. : Husband and wife team, Dan Mahieu and Lelah Campo purchased Cozy Hills in 2014 and have been time and financial resources to taking this special campground to the next level! Lelah is the lead at Cozy Hills, and has experience in business ownership, construction and event planning that all suit campground ownership well! Originally from California, Lelah has lived in Connecticut for nearly 30 years. She ran a state wide trade association for construction companies for 10 years, and before that was an owner in a family concrete business. She has been recognized for her business experience, winning the HBJ 40 under 40, and Construction Industry Person of the Year. Dan has spent most of his life in Litchfield and for thirty years has been a part of the electrical construction industry and is now a partner in a local firm. He does occasionally get drafted for electrical repairs, and if asked, tells campers he’s just the maintenance guy! Dan has served Litchfield for twenty years as a volunteer fire person and on the Capital Improvement Commission. Together they have three children and one grandchild, and they look forward to years of ownership at Cozy with of expansion and new amenities!

Rules

No Fireworks or Weapons are Permitted at Cozy Hills. QUIET HOURS are 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Turn off all radios, lower voices, don’t move vehicles, etc. If you anticipate the need to leave/return to camp during those hours, contact the . SMOKING – is only permitted in marked designated areas and your site. ONE CAMPING UNIT PER SITE – a second tent is allowed for $10 per night, $15 for 2 days, or $20 for 3 days. CHECK IN/OUT – Check in is between 2-8 p.m., Check out is by 1 p.m. for tent and RV sites, by 11 a.m. for units. When possible, we accommodate special check in/out times for a fee. RVs/Campers MUST check in prior to nightfall, which changes with the time of year. NUMBER OF PEOPLE PER SITE – 4 adults or 2 adults their underage children included per RV site. You may register up to 6 per site with additional fees. Maximum occupancy per rv site – 6. Tent and sites may have no more than 4 adults site, no more than 6 on site total. GUESTS –You may have guests visit Cozy Hills. There is a $8 fee for day guests (must leave by 10 p.m.) and $15 fee for overnight guests (must depart by 10 a.m.). You may not have more than 5 guests site without making special arrangements with the . No visitors may register after 9 p.m. Guests may not bring pets. Your overnight guests may not bring your total onsite to greater than 6. 2 CARS SITE – Additional cars must park in an overflow lot. Several units only accommodate 1 car. SPEED LIMIT is 5 MPH. PETS – 2 FRIENDLY pets are included with your stay. Pets MUST be on leash at all times and have a valid rabies vaccine. Please do not leave your pet unattended. Dogs whose barking is not controlled be asked to leave the campground. You must clean up after your pet. CAMPFIRES – Due to invasive beetles, you must purchase your firewood from us, bring bundled, kiln dried firewood. Fires must be contained in the fire pit and not left unattended. You may not cut standing trees. No garbage can be burned in fire pit. BIKES – All riders under the age of 16 must wear helmets. Bicycle speed must be safe. No bikes after dark. MOTORIZED VEHICLES OR TOYS – No quads, motorized scooters, motorized riding toys or 2 cycle golf carts. GARBAGE – We pick up trash left by road several times a day on the weekends. MINORS must be on their campsites under direct supervision by 10 p.m. PLAYGROUNDS close at dusk, no climbing on roof of play structure. ALCOHOL/DRUGS – No kegs. No drug use or drunken behavior be tolerated. Use Koozies for alcohol cans or bottles. Regardless of status of CT, marijuana is not welcome at Cozy Hills. BOATS – Kayaks, Canoes and rowboats are allowed on our lake, rentals available on an honor system by large pond. Life vests must be worn. No motorized boats. Boats stored on a site count as one of your parking spots. CLOTHESLINES – Temporary clotheslines are permitted, must be taken down when not in use. POOL RULES – No glass, unattended minors under 16, running or diving. No lifeguard on duty. NO OUTDOOR REFRIGERATORS OR FREEZERS that aren’t part of the camping unit. Other Notes: -Reservations are considered cancelled if not occupied by 8 a.m. the next day -No refunds for voluntary departures or removal of campers for rule violations -No solicitation -Management reserves the right to remove any persons from the campground at their sole discretion -The registered camper must communicate these rules to all members of the camping party and guests - While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policies at Cozy Hills differ by the length of stay. Short stays are much easier to rebook so we can be more generous. Longer stay cancellations are very challenging to rebook on short notice so we can’t be as accommodating. Spot2Nite booking fees are non-refundable. -If stay is for 7 nights or less: -Cancelled with 7 days or less notice of check in date – no refunds or credits -8-14 days’ notice of check in date – they receive a credit (minus a $20 rebooking fee) to be used in same camping season -15 or more days’ notice – their choice of a full credit or refund minus $25 cancellation fee -If the length of stay is between 8-21 nights: -If they cancel with 14 days or less notice of check in date – no refunds or credits -15-21 days’ notice of check in date – they receive a credit (minus a $20 rebooking fee) to be used in same camping season -22 or more days’ notice – their choice of a full credit or refund minus $25 or 5% cancellation fee, whichever is greater -If the length of stay is greater than 22 nights: -If they cancel with 30 days or less notice of check in date – no refunds or credits -31-45 days’ notice of check in date – they receive a credit (minus a $20 rebooking fee) to be used in same camping season -46 or more days’ notice – their choice of a full credit or refund minus 5% cancellation fee -No refund or credit issued due to inclement weather, early departure or eviction. -Cozy Hills reserves the right to relocate any reservation to a similar or superior site.
