Westport RV Park & Motel

Westport, Washington

16 RV Sites, 11 Motel Rooms

Westport RV Park and Motel sits in the heart of Westport, Washington, on Grays Harbor's outer coast—a fishing town on the Washington coast that has centered its identity on the commercial and sportfishing economy of the Pacific Ocean since the nineteenth century. The park's combination of full hookup RV sites and 12 renovated motel rooms gives it flexibility for mixed-party groups, and its large fish cleaning station is the telling amenity detail that reveals the campground's primary constituency: serious saltwater anglers who use Westport as the staging base for the Pacific's halibut, salmon, and bottomfish grounds. Full hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections are complemented by an outdoor heated swimming pool, restrooms, hot showers, WiFi, and a dog park—an amenity set that serves both the fishing guests who arrive before dawn for charter departures and the families and couples who come for the broader Westport coastal experience. The 12 renovated motel rooms provide comfortable enclosed accommodation for guests without self-contained vehicles, and the propane fill and exchange service handles the practical refueling needs that extended camping stays on the coast generate. A picnic area with charcoal grills provides outdoor cooking infrastructure. The Westport Marina is a few minutes' walk, operating as one of the busiest recreational fishing ports on the Washington coast with charter boats departing daily from spring through fall for Chinook salmon, halibut, bottomfish, and Dungeness crab in the offshore Pacific grounds. Westport's charter fleet is one of the largest in Washington State, and the marina's fish cleaning facilities, seafood processing operations, and the commercial crabbing vessels that work the Grays Harbor bar give the waterfront an authentically working-port atmosphere that resort marinas rarely duplicate. Crab is available direct from the processors at the marina when the commercial Dungeness season is open. Twin Harbors State Park, south of Westport, provides the ocean beach access, sand dunes, and clamming beaches that complement the offshore fishing of the marina—the razor clam digging seasons on the outer Grays Harbor beaches are among the most popular shellfish harvest events on the Washington coast, drawing thousands of diggers from across the Pacific Northwest when WDFW opens the beaches during productive clam abundance periods. Westport Light State Park, a 212-acre natural site 10 minutes' walk from the campground, surrounds the 1898 Grays Harbor Lighthouse—the tallest lighthouse in Washington State and one of the more photogenic on the Pacific Coast—with a system of coastal dune trails above the jetty and ocean beach. Westport RV Park and Motel operates year-round in a climate where the Washington outer coast's Pacific exposure delivers the drama of winter storms, the abundant fishing of spring and summer, and the reliable September-October silvers (coho salmon) that provide some of the best light-tackle fishing on the Washington coast in the shoulder season. The ocean beach is three minutes by car, and the combination of fishing charter access, beach recreation, and the motel rooms for non-RV guests makes it a versatile base for the full range of Westport's coastal activities. Book well ahead for peak salmon season weekends when the charter fleet operates at full capacity.
