Nineteen back-in sites include water, sewer, electric service, fire pits, picnic tables, and site Wi-Fi. A bathhouse with restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, and Starlink Wi-Fi provide convenient comforts. Tent sites and a loft cabin offer additional accommodation options. One vehicle is allowed per site, with an extra vehicle fee of $1 per night upon arrival. A ball field and basketball are available on the grounds. Boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, and biking are available in the area, with off-roading and a golf course nearby. The cold, clear mountain streams around Roan Mountain offer excellent wild trout fishing. Pets are welcome. Hampton sits in Carter County near Cherokee National Forest, the Appalachian Trail, and Watauga Lake. The campground is open year-round, with the June rhododendron bloom and October foliage among the most popular times to visit. Arrival: Quiet Time: - Quiet time is between 10 pm and 8 am. Check Out: - Check-out time is 2 pm. Sites: - While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement. Tent Sites: - Only one tent is allowed per site. Vehicle Restrictions: - Campsites have room for your RV and two additional vehicles. Any additional vehicle must be listed in your paperwork and stored in a designated area for $1.00 per day. Speed Limit: - Please do not exceed 10 MPH in the campground. Trees/Firewood: - Feel free to collect any dead wood for your campfire, but do not cut live trees. Tie Offs: - No ropes, chains, wires, or strings may be tied to any park items including trees, rocks, etc. Firearms: - Display of a firearm on the property is prohibited. Washing: - Vehicle and RV washing is not allowed. Pets: - Pets must be leashed at all times while outside. Do not leave pets unattended. Always clean up after your pets.
