A playground serves families, and the surrounding ponderosa pine ridges and granite outcrops at roughly one mile of elevation give the setting its high-plains mountain character. Picnicking areas and exceptional stargazing round out on-site use, with wine and beer tasting nearby. The Black Hills attractions fan out in every direction from Hermosa. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park's bison herds, and Wind Cave National Park are all a short drive, with both state and national park access close at hand. Positioning between Rapid City's activity and Custer County's wildlife concentration is the point — guests get the whole circuit without staying in the middle of it. Driving directions from Rapid City: take SD-79 south toward Custer, turn right onto SD-40 West, left onto Battle Creek Road, left at the first cross street onto Bender Ridge Road, right onto Box Canyon Road, right onto Outback Trail, then left on Sage Brush Trail. Summer is peak across the Black Hills. Reserve well ahead for July and August.

Quiet Hours - To ensure a relaxing environment for all guests & our neighbors. - Quiet hours for the weekdays are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. - Quiet hours for the weekends are from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. - Please be respectful of other guests & our neighbors during this time. Reservations & Payments - A valid credit card is required to secure all reservations. - Full or partial payment may be required at booking. - Rates are subject to change without notice. Smoking Policy - All cabins and indoor spaces are non-smoking, non-vaping. - Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas. - If smoking or vaping occurs inside, a cleaning and restoration fee will be applied. - All embers, ash, and cigarette butts must be disposed of in a proper can or tray. - Please do not discard them on the ground due to the high risk of forest fires. - We appreciate your understanding in keeping our environment clean and enjoyable for all guests. Pets Policy - Pets are welcome in designated areas only. - Must be kept on a leash at all times. - Pet not allowed to be tied to trees or left unattended. - Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. - Any damages caused by pets will be the owner’s responsibility. Parking & Vehicles Policies - Please park only in designated areas. - Do not block roadways or other guest spaces. Guest Responsibility - Guests are responsible for any damage to property. - Guests are responsible for keeping their site or cabin clean. - Guests are responsible for supervising children at all times. - Guests are responsible for supervising pets at all times. Liability - Painted Buffalo Resorts is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items. - Injuries due to misuse of property or failure to follow posted rules. Campfires & Safety - At this time, we do not have any area for campfires. - Fires are allowed only in designated fire pits. - Please follow all local fire restrictions. - Never leave a fire unattended. Cancellation Policy

MODERATE If the guest cancels at least 1 week before your check-in day and time, they will receive a full refund (minus Spot2Nite convenience or resort fees). If the guest cancels within the 1 week before check-in, there will be no refund.
