The amenity set is modest by design — the Green Mountains are the attraction, and the park is built as a comfortable base for reaching them. Pets are welcome. Smugglers Notch itself is the rugged pass above town that once served as a smuggling route into Canada, and it is now one of Vermont's most dramatic drives. Stowe, Mount Mansfield, and Lamoille County's villages and breweries are all close. Summer and foliage season drive demand hard. Reserve well ahead for July through mid-October.
