Bear Necessities Cottages

4 Cabins, 4 Tent Sites

Bear Necessities Cottages in Seward, AK, offers 4 cabins and 4 tent sites. This is a cottage retreat rather than a serviced RV park — the published record shows no RV sites or hookups, so contact the property directly if you're traveling in a rig. Laundry, a bathhouse with showers, and walking trails serve the grounds, and it's family-owned rather than corporate. Pets are welcome. Creek frontage runs the property, with kayaking, fishing, birding, and planned activities. In Seward the wildlife watching is not incidental — Resurrection Bay supports some of the richest marine life in the North Pacific. Seward sits at the head of Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, a small port city backed by mountains and fronted by fjord water. Kenai Fjords National Park, the Alaska SeaLife Center, and the glacier and whale tours all run from the harbor. Rates for the cottages and tent sites are on the booking page. Alaska's summer is short and Seward fills — reserve months ahead, and call about RV accommodation before you tow.

Nash Bayfront Campground

45 RV Sites, 4 Cabins

Nash Bayfront Campground in Seward, AK, offers 45 RV sites and 4 cabins, with 30 and 50-amp service and room for rigs up to 60 feet. Sites come in three types — dry campsites, electric-only sites, and water-and-electric sites — each with a fire pit and picnic table. There are no sewer hookups here, so plan on using a dump station elsewhere in town for longer stays, and note that the electric-only and dry sites suit self-contained rigs best. A bathhouse with showers, a general store, and firewood are on site, and pets are welcome. The setting does most of the work. The campground spans bayfront ground with views across Resurrection Bay to the Kenai Mountains, the boat harbor, and the historic waterfront. Fishing guides operate from the property, and creek frontage, a beach, and walking trails put guests directly into the landscape for fishing, wildlife watching, and picnicking. Seward is the jumping-off point for Kenai Fjords National Park, with marine wildlife tours, the Alaska SeaLife Center, and glacier trips all within reach of the campground. Rates for sites and cabins are on the booking page. The Alaska season is short — summer bookings, particularly around the Fourth of July, should be made well in advance.

Mooseberry Cabins

5 RV Sites, 2 Cabins

Mooseberry Cabins in Willow, AK, offers 5 RV sites and 2 cabins, with 30-amp service and back-in sites for rigs up to 40 feet. The three site categories are named for the view: lakefront, mountain view, and elite. All carry water and electric with site-delivered WiFi, a fire pit, and a picnic table. There's no sewer at the site, so plan on dumping elsewhere. Note the electrical: this is a 30-amp property, so a rig wired for heavier service will need an adapter and some load management. Pets are welcome. The lakefront is private, with boat docks at the water for boating, fishing, birding, and picnicking. Five RV spots on a private Alaska lake is a genuinely rare arrangement. Willow sits on the Parks Highway five miles from Hatcher Pass and its gold rush history and summer hiking, 35 miles from Wasilla, and 66 miles from Anchorage — with Denali and Talkeetna both day trips and a handful of good restaurants within a 20-mile circle. Rates for sites and cabins are on the booking page. Five sites and a short Alaska summer means booking months ahead is the norm.

Eagles Rest RV Resort

131 RV Sites, 18 Cabins, 21 Tent Sites, 4 Glamping Sites, 1 Cottage

Eagles Rest RV Resort in Valdez, Alaska, offers 131 full-hookup RV sites, 19 cabin and cottage units, 21 tent sites, and four glamping sites near the harbor and downtown, with 20, 30, and 50-amp service and rigs accepted to 80 feet. Back-in categories at every amp combination carry power, sewer, and water, with a laundry, showers, dump station, and dog park. One hundred thirty-one back-in sites run in 30-amp, 50-amp, 30/20-amp, and 30/20/50-amp categories, all carrying power, sewer, and water, sized to 80 feet. Naming the exact amp combination in each category removes any doubt about what you are plugging into, and 80 feet accommodates the longest coaches with a tow — genuinely useful for anyone who has driven the Richardson Highway to get here. Nineteen cabins and cottages, 21 tent sites, and four glamping sites round out the lodging. A laundry, dump station, restrooms, and showers handle the practical side. A dog park fills the grounds, with boating, rivers, and mountains nearby and exceptional birding — bald eagles are common enough here to be unremarkable. Pets are welcome. The address is 139 East Pioneer Drive. Valdez sits at the terminus of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline at the head of Prince William Sound, where the Chugach Mountains drop straight to tidewater in a wall of glaciers, waterfalls, and hanging valleys. Columbia and Mears Glacier cruises leave from the harbor, and Mineral Creek Canyon is close. The Alaska season is short. June through August is the window and it fills. Reserve as early as you can.
