Cheyenne RV Resort

42 RV Sites, 6 Cabins, 17 Tent Sites

Cheyenne RV Resort in Cheyenne, WY, offers 42 full-hookup pull-thru RV sites, 6 cabins, and 17 tent sites, with 20, 30, and 50-amp service and room for rigs up to 85 feet. Sites come in two categories, standard and premium pull-thrus, both carrying water, sewer, and electric with site-delivered WiFi and a picnic table, and ADA-accessible sites are available. Every site is a pull-thru and the maximum length is 85 feet — a long coach with a toad pulls straight through. Laundry, a bathhouse with showers, a general store, a snack bar, firewood, propane fills and exchange, a dump station, a clubhouse, and a pet washing station cover the rest. Pets are welcome, with a dog park. An outdoor pool, mini-golf, a pavilion, a playground, a pond, walking trails, volleyball, basketball, and horseshoes fill the grounds, with hiking, biking, swimming, birding, and High Plains stargazing. A state park is nearby. Cheyenne is the state capital at the junction of I-25 and I-80, where the High Plains meet the Laramie Range — and the home of Cheyenne Frontier Days each July. Rates for sites, cabins, and tent spots are on the booking page. Frontier Days week books out a year ahead.

Lakeview Haven

28 RV Sites

Lakeview Haven in Glendo, WY, offers 28 full-hookup back-in RV sites with 30 and 50-amp service and room for rigs up to 50 feet. Every site is a back-in carrying water, sewer, and electric. Laundry, a bathhouse with showers, propane fills, and on-site dining handle the essentials, with WiFi across the property and cabins available for guests without a rig. Campfires are allowed in the public fire pits rather than at individual sites, and tents need their own tent site — you can't pitch one beside a cabin. Pets are welcome, and there's a playground and a basketball court for kids. A fishing pier on the property puts guests on the water, and the community fire pit is where the evening ends up. Glendo sits in the high plains of Platte County on the shore of Glendo Reservoir, a North Platte River impoundment known for walleye and for some of the emptiest, clearest night skies in Wyoming. Rates for sites and cabins are on the booking page. The reservoir's summer season is short and busy — reserve ahead for July and August.

Beaver Lake Campground

75 RV Sites, 9 Cabins, 6 Tent Sites

Beaver Lake Campground in Custer, South Dakota, offers 68 RV sites, nine cabins, and six tent sites at 5,300 feet in the Black Hills, with 30 and 50-amp service and rigs accepted to 45 feet. Full-hookup and water-and-electric categories at both amperages join back-in and pull-through tiers, with a water park, outdoor pool, and recreation center. Sixty-eight sites span back-in water-and-electric 30-amp, back-in water-and-electric 50-amp, back-in full-hookup 30-amp, back-in full-hookup 50-amp, pull-thru water-and-electric 30-amp, and pull-thru full-hookup categories, carrying water, sewer, and electric where noted with site WiFi, sized to 45 feet, with fire pits and picnic tables. Check your tier before booking — the water-and-electric categories do not carry sewer at the site. Nine cabins and six tent sites round out the lodging. A general store, laundry, propane fills, dump station, restrooms, showers, and firewood handle the practical side. Registered guests are responsible for the conduct of everyone at their site. A water park and outdoor pool anchor the summer, with a recreation center, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, a playground, and dog park filling the grounds. Pets are welcome. The elevation delivers reliably cool summer temperatures when the plains swelter, and Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, and the Needles Highway are all within easy striking distance of camp. Julian and Kachina Starr own and operate it. Summer is the short, intense season in the Black Hills, with the Sturgis rally week tightening the whole region. Reserve well ahead.
