Winni Lakefront Cabin
Holderness, New Hampshire
1 Cabin
The Lake Winnipesaukee Lakefront Cabin in Holderness, New Hampshire, is a secluded three-bedroom lakefront cabin retreat with excellent amenities, a private dock slip, and a protected cove setting in Grafton County — a premium cabin property on one of the most celebrated lakes in New England, positioned at the southern end of the Lake Winnipesaukee watershed where the Squam Lake's quiet beauty, the lake's 28,000-acre surface, and the Mount Washington Scenic Railroad give the Holderness area the specific Lakes Region character of the New Hampshire vacation landscape that has drawn the summer cottage and resort market for 150 years. Holderness's Grafton County position at the confluence of Squam Lake and the Pemigewasset River gives the cabin its specific location on the Squam-Winnipesaukee corridor — the two lakes that together define the New Hampshire Lakes Region's most iconic vacation landscape.
A three-bedroom lakefront cabin with a private dock slip and the protected cove amenities give the Winni Lakefront Cabin the premium summer vacation accommodation that New Hampshire's most beloved lake specifically sustains for the family or group that wants the complete Lakes Region lake experience in a private, fully-equipped cabin rather than the campground or resort hotel alternative — the private dock's boat access, the protected cove's swimming safety, and the three-bedroom capacity for the multi-family summer vacation group give the Holderness cabin its specific premium Lakes Region character. Pets are welcome.
Lake Winnipesaukee, 28,000 acres of the Lakes Region's centerpiece lake in Belknap, Carroll, and Grafton Counties, is the largest lake in New Hampshire and one of the most visited lakes in New England — a glacially scoured lake with 365 islands (one for each day of the year, as the local tourism marketing has noted for over a century), 283 miles of shoreline, and a central position in the New Hampshire summer vacation economy that the resort communities of Wolfeboro, Meredith, Center Harbor, and Weirs Beach have sustained since the Boston and Maine Railroad's 19th-century service to Laconia gave the Boston market its first accessible New England lake resort destination.
Squam Lake, immediately north of Holderness and the setting for the 1981 Academy Award-winning film "On Golden Pond," is the New Hampshire Lakes Region's most pristine and least-developed major lake — a 6,791-acre lake of uncommon clarity and the loon nesting population that the Squam Lakes Science Center's loon research program specifically monitors in the region's most recognized symbol of the New Hampshire wild lake. The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center's live animal exhibits in Holderness, with the mountain lion, the bobcat, the raptors, and the native New Hampshire wildlife in natural enclosures, give the lakeside location its wildlife education complement to the lake recreation.
The Lake Winnipesaukee Lakefront Cabin serves guests through New Hampshire's Lakes Region summer season from late May through early October, with the peak season from the 4th of July through Labor Day sustaining the maximum demand for the private lakefront cabin accommodations that the Holderness cove position and the Squam-Winnipesaukee corridor give the property. The Mount Washington Cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee from Weirs Beach gives the lake the scenic steamship excursion tradition that the M/S Mount Washington has operated since 1872 in one of the longest continuously operated inland lake cruise services in the United States. Reserve the cabin well ahead — many months in advance for the peak summer season.
