Wildwood Resort
Zwolle, Louisiana
5.01 reviews
Wildwood Resort sits on forty wooded acres overlooking the shores of Toledo Bend Reservoir, a sprawling 185,000-acre lake straddling the Louisiana-Texas border that consistently ranks among the top bass fishing destinations in the United States. For anglers, water enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a secluded Southern retreat, Wildwood Resort at Toledo Bend is the definitive address on the lake's Louisiana shore.
Guests choose from 31 cabins and lodges, RV sites with full hookups, and accommodations spread across the property, with ADA-accessible options available throughout. A 300-foot lighted fishing pier sits beside a private boat launch, and the resort's gift and tackle shop keeps gear topped up between outings. Three on-site ponds are stocked for catch-and-release fishing — no fishing license required since they're on private property — while paddle boards, kayaks, and paddle bikes are complimentary for all guests.
The terrain blends Louisiana's classic pineywoods landscape with waterfront views that open dramatically toward Toledo Bend's wide expanse. Wildlife sightings are common throughout the property, and the resort's secluded setting creates a true sense of arriving somewhere off the beaten path, far from the noise of the highway.
Just across the road, the Toledo Bend Family Adventure Park provides a full day of fun with a lazy river, waterslides, splash pad, mini-golf, and more — making it a natural companion to a fishing resort stay. North Toledo Bend State Park offers hiking trails and picnic areas, and the historic town of Zwolle, celebrated for its tamale-making traditions, is just nearby. Natchitoches and Shreveport are both within reasonable driving distance for dining and broader sightseeing.
Wildwood Resort on Toledo Bend welcomes guests year-round, with bass fishing reaching peak activity in late winter and spring. Summer brings out water recreation in full force, while fall attracts hunters and anglers alike. ADA-accessible facilities make the resort inclusive for all guests, and the private boat launch eliminates the hassle of hunting public ramp access on a busy fishing weekend at one of the South's greatest lakes.

The campground is clean, quiet and easy to get into. The staff is friendly and courteous. There is a private boat launch with floating docks as well as a very large private fishing pier. We stay here often and highly recommend them
