Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing
Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing is an Adventure Camp, Conference, and Retreat Center located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. Operating all year-round, our programs range from backpacking summer camps to weeklong school trips to gourmet dining events. We pride ourselves on offering fully customizable programs catered to the needs, goals, and expectations of our guests. Situated on 500 acres of field, forest, mountains, and streams in Virginia’s Blue Ridge, Wilderness Adventure is the perfect spot to spend the weekend, bring a group, or tie the knot. Craig’s Creek, a wide, shallow, and meandering body of water flows along nearly a half mile of the property making it perfect for tube floats, canoe paddles, or afternoon rinses on hot afternoons. The opportunities for relaxation and adventure are endless. You can move at your own pace, exploring your surroundings on foot, boat, or bike OR you can let us guide your adventures over multiple days. Let us be your basecamp for adventure! Wilderness Adventure offers beautiful, primitive campsites to fit a variety of camping styles: pull-in RV sites, individual tent camping, roof-top camping, and large, private group sites. Our campsites are privately nestled within a cedar forest along the edges of a large, spacious meadow bordering the rolling waters of Craig Creek. All sites are within walking distance of our warm shower-house and water hydrants. Ice, firewood, & water cubes are available onsite. Sometimes you’d rather experience the stars above your head. Wilderness Adventure has plenty of room (and equipment) to help you or your group experience the outdoors face-to-face.

Refunds & Cancellations Spot2Nite convenience fees are non-refundable. GENERAL REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY - Our cancellation policy is based on our investment in food and equipment purchases, program planning, and staff training. - Due to our small group size, many sessions fill by April 1st. Cancellation on short notice often prevents others from attending, and we may be unable to recover our expenses. Because of the financial consequences of canceling within 30 days of a session, we strongly recommend you purchase refundable airline tickets and travel insurance, which will reimburse you for cancellation under certain circumstances (e.g., medical reasons, family illness, etc). For more information on travel insurance please look at the section below. Tuition will be refunded for cancellations according to the following schedule: Before April 1.............................………………....................... A full refund, less a $75 processing fee. Between April 1 and 30 days before the session …...........…. Refund of all tuition, less 25% deposit. Within 30 days....................................................................... No refund. CANCELATION DUE TO INJURY OR ILLNESS - Within 30 days of start date: If cancellation within 30 days of the session is due to a non-preexisting illness or injury (documented by the attending physician), we will apply all amounts with-held to future tuition (less a $75 processing fee and any amounts already committed to an outfitter for a contracting activity). - Injury or Illness during the camp session: If a participant is sent home due to a non-preexisting illness or injury, we will apply a pro-rated amount to future tuition (less $75 and any amounts already committed to an outfitter for a contracting activity). - Behavior Issues during the camp session: No refund will be given if a participant is sent home for behavioral issues or otherwise violating our Participation Agreement, or if a participant voluntarily withdraws for whatever reason. We reserve the right to cancel sessions or change schedules due to unforeseen circumstances. Certain trips require a minimum number of participants. In the rare event that we must cancel a session before the starting date, we will refund all amounts paid. MANDATED COVID-19 CLOSURE - Due to the ever-changing Covid climate of our times, it is always possible that Wilderness Adventure will either choose to cancel or will be forced to cancel a portion of our summer program for an undetermined amount of time. - If we close or cancel a trip on our end, you will have the option for a full refund or to apply any monies paid to a future adventure with us. HOMESICKNESS/SELF-REMOVAL - Due to the structure of our program, we cannot issue refunds when a participant goes home early due to homesickness or by choice. - We encourage all parents to address potential homesickness and challenges with their child before the start of their trip, discuss that these feelings are normal and will pass, and ensure that their child is indeed ready for our program. MEDICAL TREATMENT - Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing shall have the right to give first aid to any participant. - We shall also have the right to retain the services of a physician, or if necessary, to hospitalize a participant. - All expenses related to physician care, medication, or hospitalization (including travel expenses if the participant has to be sent home) shall be paid by the parent/guardian or reimbursed to us (such amounts will be added to the participant’s camp store bill). - All participants must be covered by medical insurance. If you do not have medical insurance, we request that you purchase an inexpensive policy specifically for the length of stay with us. SAFETY/ASSUMPTION OF RISK/ITINERARIES - In all outdoor adventure programming involving travel in remote areas and the unpredictable forces of nature, there will be some element of risk. - Please be assured that safety is our primary concern. We have an excellent safety record due to our high standards for staff qualifications, staff training, and safety policies and procedures. We provide the supervision, instruction, and equipment needed to minimize risk while participating in program activities. - Please note that we contract out for services in some of our Specialized Trips and Earth Explorations such as SCUBA, ice climbing, and rafting. - Our goal is to follow the sample schedules and itineraries described on our website. Adverse weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances may necessitate changes in the schedule. - If an activity must be postponed or canceled for any reason, every attempt will be made to reschedule it or replace it with a similar one.
