About the Park

Welcome to Steel Wheel Campground & Cabins The Steel Wheel Campground & Trading Post is a 12-acre facility located on US Hwy 385 just 6 miles south of the historical town of Deadwood, SD. Planted in the heart of the Black Hills at approximately 5,300 ft., we are only but a short distance from several great landmarks, such as the Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments.

General Guidelines & Campground Rules -CHECK-IN TIME IS 1:00 P.M. -CHECK-OUT TIME IS 11:00 A.M. -QUIET HOURS ARE 11:00 P.M. TO 7:00 A.M. -NO GENERATORS ALLOWED -SPEED LIMIT IS 5 MPH -FIRE RINGS CANNOT BE MOVED!!!!!!!!!! Pet Policy: -We are a pet-friendly campground; however, if you bring them, they must be leashed at all times, and if you are not at the site, they must be kept inside. "AND YOU MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEM. " IF they become a nuisance, you will be asked to leave or take them to a kennel. Cabin Pet Policy -Pets are not allowed in cabins. -Regular Season Rates & Reservations: -Reservations must be made with a credit card or cash. A confirmation letter will be sent to the Reserving Party detailing the guaranteed reservation information. Credit card deposits are not processed but held in reserve to be processed only in cases of a "no show" or "failure to meet the cancellation time period policy," i.e., cancellation notice is received less than three (3) ... view more

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be given in accordance with the Cancellation Policy below: -Spot2Nite booking fees are non-refundable. Regular Season Rates & Reservations -Reservations must be made with a credit card or cash. A confirmation letter will be sent to the Reserving Party detailing the guaranteed reservation information. Credit card deposits are not processed but held in reserve to be processed only in cases of a "no show" or "failure to meet the cancellation time period policy," i.e., cancellation notice is received less than three (3) days in advance of the reserved date. Upon arrival and check-in at the campground, the total fee will be charged. If making reservations for others, the party making the reservations is responsible for all the sites and extra person charges and will be charged the total amount.
