Rural Hill Farm
Mt. Juliet, Tennessee
17 RV Sites, 3 Cabins, 1 House
Rural Hill Farm in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, spreads across 180 acres of rolling Wilson County farmland east of Nashville, offering a genuine farm camping experience that combines full hookup RV sites, cabin rentals, and tent camping with the working agricultural character of a Middle Tennessee property where guests can fish a stocked pond, hike property trails, and experience the pastoral calm of a working farm just 25 minutes from one of America's most vibrant music cities. The farm's scale and rural character create an authentic contrast to the urban energy of Nashville's entertainment corridor, serving guests who want both proximity to the city and meaningful retreat from it.
The 180-acre property provides room for well-spaced camping sites that avoid the crowded feel common at urban-fringe campgrounds competing for limited acreage, and the stocked pond delivers fishing access—bass, catfish, and bluegill—without requiring guests to drive to public water. Hiking trails through the farm's mixed woodland and pasture provide daily walking and exploration within the property boundary, and the swimming hole gives families a natural aquatic option during Middle Tennessee's warm summer months. Cabin rentals serve guests who prefer enclosed accommodations, and the full hookup RV sites handle the full range of self-contained rigs with water, electric, and sewer service.
Wilson County's landscape is the heart of Middle Tennessee's bluegrass and cedar glade country, where the Central Basin's limestone bedrock breaks through thin soils in the cedar glade natural community—one of Tennessee's rarest ecosystems—and the surrounding rolling farmland of oak-hickory forest and pasture creates a green, fertile landscape that has supported agricultural communities since the earliest Euro-American settlement of the Nashville Basin in the late eighteenth century. Mt. Juliet's rapid suburban growth in recent decades has brought commercial development to the Wilson County corridor, but Rural Hill Farm's acreage provides a meaningful agricultural buffer against the suburban encroachment surrounding it.
Percy Priest Lake, formed by J. Percy Priest Dam on the Stones River approximately 10 miles west of the farm, provides boating, swimming, and fishing on 14,200 acres of Corps of Engineers-managed reservoir with multiple public access ramps and day-use areas along its wooded shoreline. Long Hunter State Park on Percy Priest Lake's eastern shore protects 2,600 acres of cedar glades, hardwood forest, and lake shoreline with hiking trails that showcase the region's distinctive geological flora, including the rare Tennessee coneflower found in cedar glade habitat. Nashville, approximately 25 minutes west via I-40, provides the full range of attractions concentrated in one of the country's fastest-growing cultural and entertainment destinations—from the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame to acclaimed restaurants and the honky-tonk corridor of Lower Broadway.
Rural Hill Farm operates year-round in Middle Tennessee's four-season climate, with spring and fall representing the most comfortable outdoor seasons and summer drawing families attracted by the pond fishing, swimming hole, and the farm's ability to provide children with a genuine agricultural experience uncommon in the suburban Nashville landscape. The farm's 25-minute proximity to Nashville makes it viable for guests attending concerts, sporting events, or exploring the city during the day while returning to a rural, quiet camping environment in the evenings—a combination that differentiates it meaningfully from campgrounds located within the urban core.
