River Oaks RV Campground & Retreat
25 RV Sites
Tucked under a canopy of old oaks and palms, River Oaks RV Campground & Retreat feels like one of those hidden Florida spots you stumble across and never want to leave. With limited RV sites and a handful of tent sites, it’s quiet, shaded, and just a little off the beaten path—exactly the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself unwind.
Whether you’re posted up by the water or nestled deeper in the trees, it’s easy to settle into the rhythm of the place. Bring a kayak or borrow one and float the nearby river, or grab a bike and hop on the Withlacoochee State Trail right down the road. You’re also minutes from peaceful natural spots like Potts Preserve and Fort Cooper State Park, or you can drive out to Rainbow Springs State Park for that classic Florida springs experience. Want to spot a manatee? Head west to Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge.
And if you're in town during October, don't miss the quirky local favorite—Inverness' Cooter Festival. This is camping near Tampa, but it feels worlds away.
