Ohana Celebration Park in Vilonia, Arkansas, is a revitalized community camping destination in Faulkner County — a park reborn since 2021 under the Mize family's stewardship from the historic Lester Flatt Memorial Park site, welcoming guests for both short and extended stays with varied accommodations in the central Arkansas countryside between Conway and Little Rock. Vilonia's Faulkner County position in the Arkansas River valley's north shore countryside gives guests the practical access to the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, the Arkansas River's recreational corridor, and the Greers Ferry Lake and Petit Jean State Park outdoor recreation landscapes that make the central Arkansas region one of the state's most accessible and most varied outdoor and cultural destinations within an hour's drive of Little Rock. The Mize family's community-first approach gives Ohana the welcoming character that the park's name — inspired by the Hawaiian concept of family — specifically expresses. Varied accommodations for both short-term and extended stays give Ohana Celebration Park the flexibility to serve guests whose Arkansas visit spans the day-trip range from Conway to the Little Rock metro and the weekend camping market that Faulkner County's central Arkansas position serves from the Little Rock and Fort Smith regional markets. The park's community identity and the family hospitality of on-site management reflect the small-park character that independently operated campgrounds sustain most effectively against the franchise campground standardization. Pets are welcome. Greers Ferry Lake, 50 miles north of Vilonia in Cleburne County, is one of Arkansas's premier recreational lakes — a clear, deep Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Little Red River whose 40,000 acres, 340 miles of shoreline, and the remarkable water clarity that the Ozark plateau's spring-fed tributaries sustain give the lake a swimming and diving quality that Arkansas's flatland reservoirs cannot match. The Little Red River below Greers Ferry Dam is one of the most productive trophy trout fisheries in the South — the cold, oxygen-rich tailwater immediately below the dam sustains a wild brown trout population that has produced multiple world-record catches since the dam's completion in 1962, and the no-kill section's large-fish concentration draws fly fishing and spin fishing visitors from across the southeastern United States specifically for the trophy trout opportunity. Petit Jean State Park, 60 miles west of Vilonia in Conway County, is Arkansas's oldest and most celebrated state park — a 3,000-acre preserve on Petit Jean Mountain's mesa top above the Arkansas River valley, with Cedar Falls (the most photographed waterfall in Arkansas), the 12-mile-plus trail system through cedar glades, rocky bluffs, and the Mather Lodge's rustic Civilian Conservation Corps architecture that sustains the specific mountain-top character that the Ouachita Mountain's outlier mesa provides above the Arkansas River plain. Ohana Celebration Park serves guests year-round in Faulkner County's temperate central Arkansas climate, where the spring and fall seasons from March through May and September through November deliver the most comfortable outdoor conditions for the central Arkansas day-trip range. Conway, six miles south of Vilonia, is home to three universities — the University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix College, and Central Baptist College — giving the immediate area a collegiate and cultural programming dimension that the campground's proximity makes accessible for evening and day-trip entertainment. Reserve sites ahead for the spring and fall seasons when the central Arkansas outdoor recreation calendar and the Little Rock regional event market drive the highest overnight demand in the Faulkner County campground corridor.

The weather was not the best, spring storms, but the campground was beautiful. Very well spaced our spots, views of the lake, and overall just a nice area. We were in the area for a high school rodeo and the staff was extremely accommodating, I can't say enough about how nice and helpful they were. We will...Show more
