Oak Harbor RV Park

5.01 reviewsNestled along the shores of a sprawling 1,000-acre private lake near Haines City in Polk County, Florida, Oak Harbor RV Park offers a lakeside retreat that stands in deliberate contrast to the manicured resort developments more commonly associated with central Florida. The property's position on the lake's edge, surrounded by protected natural areas that buffer it from surrounding development, creates an environment of natural quiet that sets it apart from higher-density campgrounds in the theme-park corridors to the north. For guests prioritizing freshwater access and unhurried lakeside relaxation in central Florida, Oak Harbor delivers a genuinely distinct alternative.
Lakefront living is built directly into the campground's infrastructure—a boat ramp, two canals, and private docking facilities give guests immediate on-water access for fishing, boating, and paddling without leaving the property. Cable television and internet connections are standard at every site, and Wi-Fi is available at the campground office for guests needing connectivity during extended stays. Spacious recreation halls on the property provide covered gathering space for social events and community activities, and the combination of utility hookups and direct waterfront access makes Oak Harbor especially well suited for extended seasonal residents seeking a central Florida lake experience.
The 1,000-acre private lake is the defining natural asset of an Oak Harbor stay, supporting fishing, non-motorized paddling, and leisurely on-water recreation throughout Florida's year-round outdoor season. The protected natural areas surrounding the property help maintain the lake's water quality and ecological character, and guests regularly encounter herons, ospreys, anhingas, and other wading birds native to central Florida's freshwater ecosystems. Sunrise views across the open water from lakefront sites are a consistently noted highlight for guests who rise early during multi-night stays.
Haines City's position in Polk County puts Oak Harbor within day-trip range of several worthwhile central Florida destinations. Lake Eva Community Park provides recreational amenities in a picturesque in-town lakeside setting, while the Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club draws golfers to a course with notable elevation variation for Florida. Ridge Island Groves offers a local agricultural attraction, and Bok Tower Gardens in nearby Lake Wales—featuring a 205-foot carillon tower set in formal gardens atop Iron Mountain—ranks among the region's most distinctive cultural and natural landmarks for guests seeking an excursion off the lake.
Oak Harbor RV Park operates year-round, with Florida's mild winters drawing seasonal snowbird residents who appreciate the park's quieter, natural-lakeside character as an alternative to higher-traffic winter destinations. Summer weekends attract central Florida residents looking for on-water recreation without resort-scale crowds. Advance contact with the park is recommended for waterfront sites and longer seasonal stays, as the most desirable lakefront positions fill well in advance of both winter and summer peak periods. The park's emphasis on natural lakefront character over resort-scale programming is a consistent reason guests cite when returning for subsequent stays in central Florida's Polk County.
