McWest RV Park
McKinney, Texas
30 RV Sites
McWest RV Park in McKinney, Texas, is a convenient, pet-friendly campground in Collin County with back-in RV sites featuring water and sewer hookups and 30 or 50-amp electrical service, trash service, and on-site laundry — a no-frills, practical overnight and extended-stay park in one of the fastest-growing suburban cities in the United States, positioned north of Dallas in the suburban Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex corridor that Collin County's residential and commercial growth has made the most rapidly expanding real estate market in Texas over the past two decades. McKinney's Collin County position on U.S. 75 north of Plano gives guests the DFW metropolitan day-trip access alongside the specific historic downtown square character that makes McKinney a distinctive destination amid the surrounding suburban development.
Back-in sites with water, sewer, 30 and 50-amp electrical service, trash, and laundry give McWest the complete practical daily living infrastructure for the extended-stay and shorter-term RV resident who values the McKinney location's DFW suburban access over the resort amenity programming of the larger commercial campgrounds. The park's pet-friendly orientation reflects the practical guest-first approach of a campground whose core market is the working traveler, contractor, and relocation resident whose RV park needs center on reliable utilities and convenience. Pets are welcome.
McKinney's historic downtown square, two miles east of the campground, is one of the most-visited and most-awarded historic commercial districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex — a Collin County courthouse square with 19th-century brick storefronts, independent restaurants, boutique retailers, art galleries, and the Saturday farmers market that sustains the civic identity of McKinney's historic core as the most intact Victorian commercial square in the northern DFW suburban corridor. McKinney's Cottage District, the adjacent 1870s-1920s residential neighborhood surrounding the downtown square, sustains the residential historic character that the surrounding Collin County development pressure has left relatively unaffected.
Lake Lavon, 12 miles southeast of McKinney in Collin and Rockwall Counties, is the closest major reservoir to the DFW Metroplex's northeastern quadrant — a 21,400-acre Army Corps of Engineers impoundment on the East Fork of the Trinity River whose sailing, bass fishing, and the Lavon Beach public access give the Collin County community its freshwater recreation proximity within the suburban DFW corridors that surrounding reservoir access specifically enables. Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, two miles north of the campground, provides the native Texas plants, wildlife exhibits, and the raptor center that give the Collin County community its natural science education destination adjacent to the urban development.
McWest RV Park serves guests year-round in Collin County's temperate north Texas climate, where the mild winters sustain the extended-stay and snowbird market and the spring and fall seasons provide the most comfortable conditions for the McKinney downtown and DFW metro day-trip range. The Toyota Stadium in Frisco, 10 miles west of McKinney, houses FC Dallas MLS soccer and hosts the FCS football championship game annually — giving the Collin County campground the professional sports proximity that the stadium's suburban DFW position specifically provides. Reserve sites ahead for the major DFW events and holiday weekends when the north Dallas suburban campground market sees elevated demand from the regional leisure and construction traveler market.
