Lincoln Civic Center RV Park

Brookhaven, Mississippi

39 RV Sites

5.01 reviews
In the rolling piney woods of Lincoln County in southwest Mississippi, along Interstate 55 between Jackson and Natchez, the Lincoln Civic Center RV Park provides one of the state's most meticulously maintained county-operated campgrounds—a 39-site park where spacious asphalt pads, full hookups, and a civic center setting combine to serve I-55 corridor travelers with a level of infrastructure and site quality that private campgrounds in the region rarely match. The park's 1,500-square-foot sites on 25-by-60-foot asphalt pads with 12-by-50-foot concrete driving surfaces represent an unusual commitment to site quality for a county-operated facility, and the 24-hour drop-box check-in accommodates late-arriving travelers who need a reliable stop between Jackson and the Louisiana state line. All 39 full-hookup sites provide 20/30/50-amp electric service, water, and sewer connections alongside the spacious asphalt and concrete pad infrastructure that accommodates large motorhomes and fifth-wheels with room to maneuver. A centrally located, handicap-accessible bathhouse with showers serves the park's daily sanitation needs, and a new Wi-Fi system provides connectivity for remote workers and streaming guests. Daily, weekly, and monthly rental rates serve the full range of stay durations, from the overnight I-55 traveler to the long-term resident who values the park's combination of full hookups, basketball court access, and the small-town stability of Brookhaven's civic environment. Brookhaven, the Lincoln County seat and self-designated "City of Goodwill," carries its civic pride in a well-maintained historic downtown district, active local churches, and the community-oriented spirit that defines this corner of southwest Mississippi. The surrounding Lincoln County landscape is quintessential Mississippi hill country—gently rolling terrain of longleaf and loblolly pine forest, pastureland, and the small rivers draining the Pearl River watershed southward toward the Gulf coastal plain. The Bogue Chitto River, flowing through the adjacent countryside before joining the Pearl River system, offers canoe and kayak access through some of southwest Mississippi's most scenic and least-visited stream terrain. The Natchez Trace Parkway, managed as a national parkway by the National Park Service, passes through the region and provides a scenic driving and cycling route through the Mississippi landscape connecting Nashville to Natchez along the historic trail that Native Americans, traders, and early American travelers used for centuries. The Homochitto National Forest, about 40 miles west of Brookhaven, encompasses 190,000 acres of managed longleaf pine and hardwood forest that provides hiking, hunting, and fishing on the Homochitto River. Natchez, about 60 miles west, anchors one of the American South's most remarkable antebellum heritage landscapes—an intact collection of plantation houses and the bluff-top setting above the Mississippi River that made Natchez the wealthiest city per capita in pre-Civil War America. Southwest Mississippi's moderate climate—mild winters and warm summers—makes Lincoln Civic Center RV Park functional year-round for travelers moving through the I-55 corridor. Spring and fall provide the most comfortable conditions for exploring the surrounding piney woods landscape and the Natchez Trace's historic corridor, while winter brings low campground demand and the opportunity for extended stays at the most favorable rates. The park's civic center setting, full hookup infrastructure, and 24-hour drop-box access make it one of the more reliable overnight options between Jackson and the Louisiana border for the traveler who values clean, well-maintained facilities over resort-style programming.
