Hidden Springs RV Resort
Tylertown, Mississippi
88 RV Sites, 3 Cabins
Hidden Springs RV Resort in Tylertown, Mississippi, unfolds across 127 wooded acres along the Bogue Chitto River in Walthall County, delivering an immersive natural retreat in one of the Deep South's least-visited but most ecologically pristine river corridors. Set on the banks of a river recognized for its exceptional water quality and biodiversity within Mississippi's predominantly agricultural southwest, the resort provides full-service RV accommodations alongside extensive water recreation infrastructure in a forested setting where cypress trees, hardwood bottomlands, and the river's spring-fed clarity create a landscape that feels genuinely removed from the commercial tourism circuits of the Gulf Coast and the Mississippi River Delta.
The resort's 127 acres support a comprehensive amenity package that serves guests planning active, multi-day stays in the natural environment. A swimming pool supplements the river, and a boat ramp provides motorized and non-motorized access to the Bogue Chitto. On-site facilities include a pavilion, EV charging, propane fills, laundry, a playground, general store, dump station, walking trails, and a dog park—a roster that addresses every practical need for extended-stay RV guests. The organized activities calendar and gaga ball and volleyball courts add social programming options that complement the natural recreation of the river corridor.
The Bogue Chitto River flows through Walthall County as one of Mississippi's cleanest and most biologically diverse waterways, a spring-influenced river that maintains water quality and aquatic habitat that support populations of rare freshwater mussels, native fish species, and the bird life that depends on intact riparian forest for nesting and feeding. The surrounding Walthall County countryside preserves much of the longleaf pine and mixed hardwood forest character that once covered the southern Mississippi coastal plain before industrial logging transformed the landscape in the early twentieth century, and the river's designated Outstanding Resource Water status under Mississippi environmental law reflects the recognition given to its exceptional ecological condition.
The Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge, extending across the Pearl River basin to the east and encompassing significant bottomland hardwood habitat along the Louisiana-Mississippi border, provides additional natural area context for the region's river and forest ecology. Tylertown's position in Walthall County places it within reach of the McComb, Mississippi area approximately 25 miles north, where commercial amenities including grocery, fuel, and dining supplement the resort's general store provisions. The gulf beaches of Waveland and Bay St. Louis are approximately 70 miles south via I-59, and New Orleans lies roughly 90 miles southwest for guests wanting to incorporate a Louisiana day trip into a Hidden Springs stay.
Hidden Springs RV Resort operates year-round in Mississippi's subtropical climate, with the spring and fall seasons delivering the most comfortable conditions for river kayaking, hiking the wooded trails, and the fishing that the Bogue Chitto's productive waters support. Summer's heat and humidity are genuine, but the resort's river access and pool provide effective cooling options, and the forest canopy moderates the temperature within the 127-acre property. The resort's remote character and natural river setting attract guests who seek genuine outdoor immersion in a less-discovered corner of the Deep South, and the Bogue Chitto's ecological quality rewards the extra driving required to reach Tylertown from the Gulf Coast or the Mississippi River corridor.
