Established in 1917, Glacier Lodge, nestled at 8,000 feet on Big Pine Creek, has always been the gateway to some of the best hiking, fishing, hunting, and climbing in the country. And as the new owners, we are here to help you with whatever experience you desire. Up here, silence. It's the first thing you hear after you take a deep breath of mountain air, filling your lungs deeply with the healthy pine scent and letting it out slowly. You can hear the sweet breeze through the pine trees and feel its coolness on your bare skin. You see into forever, and the mountains soar toward the bluest blue sky you've ever seen. If you choose to rough it with us in the winter, you will experience brisk cold, howling winds, and often light snowflakes covering the ground. Campfires are cozy as you sit outside and enjoy the scenery. After all, you are here to enjoy the outdoors, right? In 1998, an electrical fire burned the main lodge to the ground. It was a great loss for all of us. This was one of many fires that have plagued mountain resorts in years past. We are planning on rebuilding the Majestic Glacier Lodge as early as 2021. In the meantime, 8 cabins remain open for rental and allow easy access to the beautiful high country. We look forward to hearing from you and visiting you when you arrive. Pets, including cats, are welcome, and campfires, if used carefully, are allowed in the pits outside each cabin. OUR AMENITIES - We offer cabins in all shapes and sizes to fit the needs of any family. We also have a campground for people who enjoy camping in their tent or RV. - Inside the store, we offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and your taste buds are sure to dance with delight at any time of the day. - Enjoy a day of relaxing down by our stocked trout pond, which is the perfect spot for the little anglers in the family to experience the thrill of reeling in their own fish. If cooking your catch isn't your cup of tea, bring it by our store to be cooked for a perfect trout dinner. - WiFi is now available near the General Store for $5 per person, per day. MISSION STATEMENT - Glacier Lodge is about getting away from it all. It's about enjoying all the little things life has to offer. SOME GREAT INFO: - NO USE OF MICROWAVES, COFFEE MACHINES, HEATERS, AC, or anything with a heating element at your site unless it's connected to a different power source other than Glacier Lodge. - Our campground runs off hydroelectric energy, power generated by moving water. For us, our hydro water supply comes from Big Pine Creek. As the creek level varies, so does our flow of power. This is the most basic AND UNSTABLE in terms of power supply due to many factors such as a creek level, a block in the hydro-electric generator, weather, and temp manual shut down for maintenance. Our campsite (and cabin) power supply varies from 80v-140v. From time to time, we do have to shut off the power in the campground. - No electric vehicle charging. - No microwave and air-conditioner allowed in RV sites. - We are on a septic system set to be upgraded in 2024. It does leach; especially after heavy rains or a busy weekend. - Our campground, while beautiful, is very rocky, curvy (thanks to trees), and at a heavy incline which makes towing larger (30-35 ft) rigs without 4x4 nearly impossible. - Our campground bathroom does have a sink and a flush toilet but is very basic - no shower yet! NOTE: Policies and terms are set and enforced directly by Glacier Lodge and are subject to change as their policies are adjusted. Please contact Glacier Lodge for more details.
Campground Cancellation Policy -100% refund until 30 days prior to check-in. 50% percent refund 14 days prior, then 13 days prior, the reservation is no longer refundable. - All refund calculations exclude the RoverPass service fees and credit card processing, which are non-refundable. RoverPass Cancellation Policy - The platform and processing fees are non-refundable. - Spot2Nite convenience fees are non-refundable. Note: - We are finally open for reservations online and have updated our online RoverPass platform to reflect our more flexible booking and cancellation policies. - If you book directly through us (not RoverPass), we still have a firm 30-day cancellation policy, which means we need to know outside of 30 days prior to the reservation that you are canceling. We understand stuff can get crazy and unexpected sh*t happens within the 30 days that one can never plan for; in these situations, we reserve the right to offer a credit instead of a refund. My hope from reiterating this policy is that people will understand that Glacier Lodge is a small motel, and often times we are unable to rebook your last-minute cancelation. - Please please understand that I am not a large hotel with a ton of rooms to offset a last-minute cancellation. Let's all work together when this happens so we can all find a middle ground solution that works for everyone. - We are still prioritizing fire cancels over new reservations. If you have a reschedule from a previous season, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or text us at 760-938-2837 - Our "weird stuff is happening" cancel policy is still the same as it has been for over 20 years.
