Botel Campground

Savannah, Tennessee

15 RV Sites

On the scenic Tennessee River bank in Hardin County, one mile downstream from the Pickwick Dam where the Tennessee Valley Authority's impoundment created the Pickwick Lake reservoir that the Tennessee River's 57-mile navigational pool behind the dam sustains for the bass, crappie, catfish, and sauger fishery that make Hardin County's stretch of the Tennessee River among the most productive warmwater fishing corridors in the mid-South—Botel Campground provides full hookup concrete-pad sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer, a swimming pool and splash pad, a boat ramp and fishing platforms directly on the river, river view cabins, and the specific Tennessee River access that a one-mile Pickwick Dam proximity creates for the guest whose recreation calendar is organized around the water. The riverfront concrete-pad sites, the boat ramp on the Tennessee, and the full amenity range from splash pad to fishing platforms together define a campground that is genuinely at home on this specific stretch of the river rather than simply adjacent to it. Full hookup concrete-pad sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric, city water, and sewer connections with individual picnic tables, charcoal grills, and fire pits at every site provide the standard amenity profile. River cabins extend the accommodation to the non-RV guest seeking the Pickwick Lake water access without the rig requirement. A swimming pool and splash pad serve the aquatic recreation in the warm Hardin County summers when the river current makes pool swimming the more comfortable alternative for younger guests. A boat ramp provides direct launch access to the Tennessee River and Pickwick Lake for trailered fishing boats, pleasure craft, and the pontoon boats that the shallow-water coves of the Pickwick pool accommodate comfortably. Fishing platforms on the river provide bank and pier angling access to the largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, and catfish that the Pickwick Dam's tailwater creates in the moving-water environment immediately below the dam structure. A dog park, children's playground, pavilion, laundry, general store, and two onsite bathhouse facilities complete the full amenity profile. Shiloh National Military Park—approximately nine miles from Botel Campground—preserves the battlefield of the April 1862 Civil War engagement that produced 23,000 combined casualties in two days of fighting, the largest battle in the western theater to that point in the war. The park's visitor center, the reconstructed positions, and the 3,600 Union graves in the Shiloh National Cemetery provide the most sobering and complete Civil War battlefield interpretation accessible from a Tennessee River campground in the mid-South. Pickwick Landing State Park—on the lake's eastern shore in Hardin County—provides the state park marina, resort inn, 18-hole championship golf course, swimming beach, and the managed park infrastructure that complements the private campground experience at Botel with the state's recreational investment in the Pickwick Lake corridor. The state park's dining, golf, and marina facilities extend the Pickwick Lake day-trip options beyond what the river campground itself provides at the water's edge. Botel Campground is open year-round on the Tennessee River, providing the Pickwick Lake fishing access in all four seasons of the southern Tennessee climate. Spring crappie fishing through the spawning season, summer pool fishing, and fall bass fishing in the cooling-water period organize the angling calendar. Reserve the riverfront site for the spring crappie run and the summer pool period, launch from the boat ramp, and let Pickwick Lake's one-mile dam proximity earn the Tennessee River campground experience that the mid-South's warmwater fishing tradition centers on.
