Thirty-three campsites—including spacious RV-capable sites on the east side of the grounds and 21 riverside sites, 13 of which overlook the Sol Duc directly—provide camping options ranging from the open RV pad to the intimate riverside tent site where the sound of the river over cobblestones replaces all other ambient noise within minutes of settling in. The campground's proximity to Olympic National Park, Sol Duc Hot Springs, the Hoh Rain Forest, and the Olympic coast's wilderness beaches makes it a natural base for the full Olympic Peninsula outdoor experience. All sites include a picnic table and a fire pit with a state-of-the-art grill, and a sun umbrella provides afternoon shade at each site—a thoughtful touch that distinguishes Dawley's from the bare-minimum infrastructure that many riverside campgrounds provide. Clean portable restrooms, nighttime path lighting, a communal dishwashing station, and firewood for sale on-site round out the practical support facilities. The campground's direct Sol Duc River access enables fishing from the bank, kayaking and canoeing through the lower river's accessible stretches, and the ATV trail network, mountain biking routes, mushroom picking, and fossil hunting opportunities in the surrounding Clallam County forest that make the Olympic Peninsula a year-round outdoor recreation destination. The Sol Duc River, flowing from its headwaters near Sol Duc Hot Springs through the Clallam County lowlands to its confluence with the Quillayute River near La Push, represents one of the Olympic Peninsula's most important salmon and steelhead rivers—a watershed supporting wild chinook, coho, and the winter steelhead runs that draw serious fly anglers from across the Northwest from November through March. Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort within the park provides developed geothermal pools in a National Park setting accessible via the Sol Duc Road—one of the most scenic drives on the peninsula through old-growth forest. Rialto Beach's sea stacks and the intensely blue glacial waters of Lake Crescent both lie within 20 miles. The Olympic Peninsula's maritime climate delivers the rainfall that sustains the Hoh Rain Forest's extraordinary biological productivity, and Beaver's location experiences enough precipitation to keep the Sol Duc flowing strongly through most of the year—an advantage for the steelhead and salmon anglers who depend on adequate river levels. Summer provides the most reliable dry weather and the highest concentration of Olympic Peninsula visitors, making advance reservations essential for July and August stays. The shoulder seasons of April-May and September-October offer a quieter Olympic Peninsula experience with adequate dry weather for most outdoor activities and the full range of park facilities operational.

Rules

Check-In Procedure - Check-in time: 1:00 pm. - Check-out time: 11:00 am. - Check in at the front office. - While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement. Arrival Times - 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM Quiet Hours - 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. - All children under 18 must be on their site by 9:00 pm. Sites - One vehicle per tent site for the sites on the west side of the campground. - No boats. - Jet skis or boat trailers on your site at any time. - No gray water dumped on the ground, please use the dishwashing station to dump gray water. - No vehicle repairs on site. - Maximum of 4-5 people per site, depending on the site, including daily guests. Trash - We appreciate your help in keeping this beautiful place clean and enjoyable for all visitors. - Please take care to remove all trash from the campsite and fire rings before you leave. - Pack it in, pack it out. - Or you're welcome to use the dumpster that is in the parking lot on the west side of Campground. - Only small items, no large items, no air mattress, no chairs, no tents, no cardboard, thanks. - Please help us keep our costs down so we can pass it on to you. Sani Cans - Please be mindful that other campers will be using the potty after you. - Please dispose of your tissue, tampons, and other matters in the little garbage cans provided. Trees - Do not climb the trees or cut limbs for firewood; no gathering of any wood on the ground, only purchased firewood may be used for campfires. Swimming - Enjoy the river, but remember, water can be dangerous. - No lifeguard or immediate help is available. - Swim and play in the river at your own risk. Fishing - The State of Washington regulates fishing in this river. - You are responsible for contacting the state or retailers that sell fishing licenses (i.e., outfitters) to find out the regulations that you are responsible for, including obtaining the necessary fishing license. Pet Policy - Pets must be kept on a leash at all times or in a run. - Limit 2 dogs per site. - Pets are not to be tied outside of your tent when you are not in the campground and are not to be left unattended at any time. - If any pet demonstrates aggressive behavior toward another pet or camper, you will be asked to leave the campground. - No excessive barking. Visitors - All campers are responsible for their visitors. - Maximum of 5 people per site, including visitors, some sites only 4 people. Alcoholic Beverages - Please drink responsibly and follow all rules of the campground. - No excessive alcohol noise, quit time is 10:00 pm. Fireworks - Fireworks are strictly prohibited for the safety of all campers. - Fireworks are not permitted near the Fish Hatchery or anywhere in the campground. Campfires - Are not permitted on the ground; only use designated self-contained fire pit units. - Be courteous and respectful to your neighbors. - Please do not cut through any camp sites; we are trying to keep the blockage in between sites. Initial Deposit - An initial deposit is charged when the reservation is booked. - Payment for all retail items and gift certificates will also be collected. Scheduled Deposit - 0 day(s) before arrival, 100% of the reservation balance will be collected. - If a reservation is booked "last-minute" (within the scheduled time frame), the initial deposit will be collected in addition to the scheduled amount. Credit Card Security - Your credit card information is stored and processed securely. Primitive Campground - There are a few amenities here. - The only accommodations are fire pits with state-of-the-art grills, picnic tables, sun umbrellas in spring and summer, hand and dishwashing stations, a woodshed, and a beautiful river that runs alongside some of the tent sites that are on the west side of the Campground.
