Lake Hawkins RV Park

Hawkins, Texas

50 RV Sites, 2 Cabins

Lake Hawkins RV Park sits on approximately 55 acres along the shores of one of the clearest lakes in East Texas — a spring-fed reservoir with 1,800 feet of shoreline and nearly 700 feet of white-sand beach that give the property a distinctly coastal feel in the middle of the Piney Woods. For families, anglers, and anyone drawn to the uncomplicated pleasures of a genuine lake campground, Lake Hawkins RV Park delivers everything a lakeside Texas escape should be. Waterfront cabin rentals and RV sites overlook Lake Hawkins with direct lake access throughout the property, while the sandy beach area, boat ramp, and fishing pier anchor the water recreation. Volleyball courts, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and swimming round out the activity options on the water, and the lake's exceptional clarity makes it a particularly pleasant destination for guests accustomed to the murky conditions of many East Texas reservoirs. Pets are welcome at Lake Hawkins RV Park. The East Texas Piney Woods setting gives the park a lush, deeply green character that feels more like a getaway than a campground — tall pines and hardwoods line the wooded sections of the property, and the lake's open expanse provides a scenic counterpoint to the forested terrain surrounding it. Evenings on the fishing pier, watching the sun drop through the pines, are among the most quietly satisfying experiences this corner of Texas has to offer. Tyler, about 26 miles south, is the urban anchor for the region and offers a full day's worth of options. The Caldwell Zoo covers 85 beautifully designed acres of animal habitats, while the Tyler Rose Garden — one of the country's largest with more than 38,000 plants — is at its most spectacular during the Texas Rose Festival each October. Jefferson, with its Victorian riverfront architecture and access to the mysterious cypress swamps of Caddo Lake, is a rewarding day trip in any direction. Gladewater — the self-styled Antique Capital of East Texas — is worth an afternoon of browsing through shops that line the historic downtown. Lake Hawkins RV Park is a year-round destination, with spring and fall delivering the most comfortable outdoor conditions for swimming and water sports. Summer brings Texas heat but also peak beach and lake activity, with weekends filling to capacity from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Reserve waterfront sites and cabins early for any summer visit — this is the kind of campground that builds loyal repeat visitors quickly, and availability at peak times reflects that.
