Eminence Cottages and Camp
Eminence, Missouri
7 RV Sites, 4 Tent Sites
Eminence Cottages and Camp sits in the geographic heart of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Shannon County, Missouri — one of the most remote and most purely beautiful of Missouri's rural counties, where the Jack's Fork River and the Current River flow cold and spring-clear through forested limestone valley terrain that has been protected under the National Park Service since 1964. For guests seeking immersive access to the Ozarks' most celebrated float rivers in a setting with the comfort infrastructure to support multi-day stays, Eminence provides the deepest access point in a region where the rivers themselves are the primary reason to visit.
Eleven distinct cottages, each with individual character and capacity for up to 10 guests, give group travelers and families the solid-wall accommodations that make the Eminence area's spring float trips and fall canoe runs practically feasible for guests who want a base to return to after a day on the river. Four hotel suites accommodate smaller parties in a more intimate format, and RV sites with sewer, water, and electric hookups alongside tent sites with fire rings and picnic tables complete the accommodation range for guests across the full spectrum of camping comfort preferences.
The Jacks Fork River, beginning just above the town of Eminence, is one of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways' finest float streams — spring-fed, cold, and clear through limestone bluffs and forested corridors with excellent smallmouth bass fishing in the pools and the particular transparency that makes a downstream float through the Ozark river ecosystem one of the most visually rewarding outdoor experiences available in the Midwest. The Current River, accessible within the same Ozark National Scenic Riverways corridor, is the larger and more famous of the two rivers, with additional float options and a blue-ribbon trout fishery below Montauk State Park's springs.
Round Spring Cave, within the Ozark National Scenic Riverways just north of Eminence, provides guided cave tours through formations in a cave system connected to the same karst hydrology that produces the region's exceptional spring flow and river clarity. The Ozark Trail — a long-distance hiking and backpacking route traversing the Missouri Ozarks — runs through the Eminence area and provides backcountry hiking access in terrain that the river valleys' forested ridgelines make genuinely beautiful for extended-day or multi-day trail travel.
Eminence Cottages and Camp serves guests through the Missouri Ozarks outdoor season, with float season running roughly from April through October when river levels and temperatures are most hospitable. Fall color in the Shannon County hardwood and shortleaf pine landscape begins in mid-October and the combination of float season's tail end with foliage peak creates a specific two-week window that regular Ozark visitors specifically plan around. Reserve cottages well ahead for float season weekends, when the Jacks Fork and Current River corridor draws canoe and kayak visitors from across Missouri and the surrounding region to a campground inventory that fills quickly against the seasonal demand.
