City of Rocks Camp and Climb
Almo, Idaho
45 RV Sites, 20 Tent Sites
City of Rocks Camp and Climb in Almo, Idaho, offers 45 RV sites and 20 tent sites at the doorstep of the City of Rocks National Reserve, with 20, 30, and 50-amp water-and-electric service and rigs accepted up to 90 feet on a big-rig-friendly layout. A water-and-electric back-in category joins a dry camp pull-through tier.
Forty-five sites run in back-in water-and-electric 20/30/50-amp and pull-through dry camp categories, carrying water and electric where noted, sized to 90 feet, with fire pits and picnic tables. Two things to plan around: the sites carry water and electric but not sewer, so manage tank capacity, and the dry camp tier gives self-contained rigs a lower rate. Ninety feet is exceptional and accommodates anything on the road — genuinely useful in a remote corner where options are few. Twenty tent sites round out the lodging.
The amenity set is deliberately minimal, and that is exactly right here — guests come for the rock, not the pool. Hiking and biking run from the property, with offroading nearby. Pets are welcome.
The City of Rocks National Reserve is a geological wonderland of ancient granite monoliths, balanced rocks, and sculpted spires that has drawn climbers from around the world for decades. More than 1,000 established routes cross granite up to 2.5 billion years old, and the California Trail's original wagon route runs through it, with pioneer signatures still visible on Register Rock.
Climbing season runs spring through fall. Reserve well ahead for May, June, September, and October.
