Cozy Hills Campground
Litchfield, Connecticut
42 RV Sites, 7 Cabins, 9 Tent Sites, 1 Onsite RV/Trailer
Cozy Hills Campground sits in the Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut, a region of rolling hardwood forests, colonial-era villages, and clear-water lakes that represents one of New England's most well-preserved rural landscapes. The cozy hills campground combines a comprehensive family activity roster with the natural setting of Connecticut's most scenic interior county, making it a year-round destination for campers from the New York metro area and the Connecticut River valley alike.
The campground offers full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp service, water and sewer, and WiFi throughout the property, alongside RV rentals and cabin accommodations for guests who arrive without their own equipment. Recreation options are exceptional in breadth: a pool, fishing pond, three playgrounds, mini golf, a mega slide, jump pad, Gaga ball, BMX bike track, outdoor laser tag, and archery cover active entertainment across all age groups. Hay rides, campfire programs, and fishing round out the more traditional activities, while an on-site restaurant, arcade, and general store handle food and entertainment needs without requiring a trip off-property. Propane fill, firewood, and a dump station address RV logistics, and a dog park accommodates traveling pets.
The Litchfield Hills landscape surrounding the campground is defined by second-growth forests of oak, maple, birch, and hickory, with the rolling terrain of the Berkshire foothills creating a scenic backdrop that peaks during October's foliage season. Bantam Lake—Connecticut's largest natural lake—is a short drive away, along with the White Memorial Conservation Center, which protects 4,000 acres of forest, wetlands, and Bantam River corridor as the largest nature center in Connecticut. The agricultural heritage of Litchfield County runs deep, and roadside farm stands, historic barns, and working orchards define the drives between campground and town.
Litchfield's historic town green—one of the finest in New England—is surrounded by Federal-period architecture and anchors a village that has changed little in the past two centuries. The Haight-Brown Vineyard, Connecticut's oldest winery, produces estate wines from the Litchfield Hills terrain and offers tastings and tours. Lake Waramaug State Park to the west provides additional public swimming, kayaking, and lakeside picnicking in a setting often compared to the Swiss countryside. The covered bridges of Cornwall and West Cornwall cross the Housatonic River about 20 minutes west, providing a scenic detour that typifies the Litchfield Hills' preserved New England character.
Cozy Hills operates through the New England camping season with peak demand in summer and fall foliage season—October weekends book up particularly fast as the Litchfield Hills deliver some of Connecticut's best leaf color. The combination of a full-activity campground, a genuinely beautiful rural setting, and proximity to the cultural pleasures of Litchfield County makes this a destination that rewards multi-night stays rather than quick overnights.
