Catherine's Landing in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is an immersive 400-acre outdoor retreat with one mile of Lake Catherine shoreline five minutes outside historic Hot Springs — a campground and nature resort in Garland County's Ouachita River lakes country that combines the pastoral acreage and freshwater lake access of the Catherine's Landing estate with the extraordinary cultural and natural resources of Hot Springs, the smallest national park in the system and the most historically layered thermal spring community in North America. The campground's proximity to Hot Springs gives guests the immediate access to the national park's Bathhouse Row, the Oaklawn Park horse racing track, and the Mountain Valley Spring Water heritage that make Hot Springs the most singularly distinctive small city in Arkansas. Four hundred acres with one mile of Lake Catherine shoreline give Catherine's Landing the physical scale and the waterfront access that fundamentally distinguish the property from the standard campground format — the 400-acre estate gives guests a spatial generosity in site placement and natural surroundings that most RV campgrounds, constrained by urban or suburban land economics, structurally cannot provide. The one-mile lake shoreline gives the property the aquatic recreation and visual amenity that Lake Catherine's clear, Ouachita River-fed water specifically provides in the mountain lake setting of Garland County's pine and oak forest. Pets are welcome. Hot Springs National Park, five minutes north of Catherine's Landing in Garland County, is the oldest federal reservation in the United States — established in 1832, 40 years before Yellowstone's national park designation, to protect the 47 thermal springs on Hot Springs Mountain whose 143-degree water has attracted visitors for over 200 years and whose historic Bathhouse Row preserves eight operational Gilded Age bathhouse buildings from the 1910s and 1920s in the most intact collection of thermal spa architecture in North America. The Buckstaff Bathhouse, operating continuously since 1912, and the Quapaw Baths and Spa sustain the Hot Springs thermal bathing tradition in the most historically authentic settings available in the Garland County spa district. Lake Catherine State Park, immediately adjacent to Catherine's Landing, provides the public camping, swimming, and fishing access to one of the three Ouachita River chain lakes that Hot Springs' thermal spring heritage and the Ouachita National Forest watershed sustain in the mountain lake corridor south of the national park. Lake Ouachita, 10 miles west, is the clearest lake in Arkansas — a 40,000-acre Crystal Mountain reservoir in the Ouachita National Forest with underwater visibility exceeding 20 feet that sustains the bass, striper, and trophy trout fishery alongside the SCUBA diving and snorkeling that the lake's exceptional clarity enables in the Arkansas lake system. Catherine's Landing serves guests year-round in Garland County's Ouachita mountain climate, where the spring and fall seasons from March through May and September through November deliver the most comfortable outdoor temperatures for the Lake Catherine shoreline activities and the Hot Springs national park and cultural tourism that the campground's proximity enables. Oaklawn Park, the horse racing track in Hot Springs whose thoroughbred racing season from January through May sustains one of the most storied racing programs in the South, gives the Hot Springs winter and spring season the specific sporting event character that draws the regional racing market to the Garland County destination. Reserve sites ahead for the Oaklawn racing season and the fall Ouachita mountain foliage season.

Wonderful location close to everything and a beautiful park! We loved the pool and splash pad and wish we would have had more time for the other activities like the zipline, kayaks, and more. We stayed in a very spacious and well-appointed yurt directly next door to an awesome clean bath house. We'll be back...Show more

Park was very nice and clean, staff was very helpful. The only issue I had was the WiFi or lack of, could not even connect on any of my devices. Called front desk and she told me she would reset still nothing. For the price you pay for a site there should be better service.
