Pools and the water park run Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, with pool hours 9am to 9pm and the water park from 10am, closing after October 31.
A water park, outdoor pool, splash pad, and beach anchor the summer, with a boat ramp, boat docks, and boat rentals giving direct lake access for boating, fishing, paddle boats, kayaking, and paddle boarding. What are the hours of your pools and waterpark?

What is included in my camping fee?

- Our resort dates and availability of attractions vary throughout the season and are as follows.
- Peak Season, March 1st through October 31st (March-May: limited activities during the week).

- Events, attractions, and facilities have limited availability during the non-peak season.
Can I tour the resort?
- We are happy to show off the resort, and we do allow tours.
- However, we cannot allow tours on holidays or busy weekends.

How many guests can I have on my reservation?
- The maximum number of guests per RV site is 8.
- Maximum occupancy for cottages is the maximum number of people they are rated to sleep.
What can I use my Great Escapes Gift Card towards?
- Great Escapes gift cards are applicable towards reservations, store purchases, or activities & amenities.
Do you have RVs to rent?
- We do not have RVs to rent at our resort.
Do you provide linens in all cottages?

Can I pitch a tent at my campsite if I have an RV?

- We allow 1 small, 2-man tent in addition to the RV at an RV site.
Can my friends come and visit?
- Absolutely, guests must pay the Day Use fee to visit, or they can be added to your reservation.
What kind of fish are in Weiss Lake?
- Weiss Lake is rated as one of Alabama’s top fisheries and is known as the “Crappie Capital of the World.”
- White and black crappie are abundant, along with largemouth, spotted, and striped bass.
What are the fishing and boating regulations at Weiss Lake?
- A fishing license is required.
- Fishing Licenses may be purchased online or at area bait shops and marinas.

Is firewood available for purchase?
- We have firewood available for purchase at our store.
- To preserve the beauty of our wooded Resort, please do not cut down or damage trees in any way.
Can I bring my own firewood?
- No, not at this time.
- Using only local firewood will help protect Alabama’s forests from damaging invasive pests like the emerald ash borer, the imported fire ant, and the laurel wilt.
- These pests have caused major issues in Alabama and many other states.
- Nearby states harbor other pests which have the potential to thrive in Alabama, such as the giant African land snail, thousand cankers disease, and gypsy moth.
- Such pests pose a serious threat to the health of Alabama’s natural resources.
- These harmful insects can infest new areas when people transport firewood from one place to another.
Can I bring my own golf cart or ATV to the resort?
- For safety and liability reasons, guests are not permitted to bring any personal motorized vehicles, such as golf carts, into the resort.
- While we do not like to be the fun police, guests found in violation of this policy may be asked to leave without refund.
- For your convenience, we do offer golf cart rentals that allow accessing our resort easy and fun.
- If you have a disability, you can bring your own golf cart; however, you must provide documentation for insurance and have a handicap placard.
Can I bring my own E-Bike or motorized scooter to the resort?
- Yes, E-Bikes and motorized scooters are allowed on-site.
- Please ensure that all speed limits and traffic signs are respected. For everyone’s safety, if reckless driving is observed, E-Bikes and motorized scooters will need to remain parked at your campsite for the remainder of your stay.
How do I rent a golf cart if I am staying overnight?
- Add a golf cart rental to your reservation when you book online.
- For more information about our golf carts, click here/activities-amenities, or you can always come into our front office, and we will be happy to help you.
How many cars are permitted at my site, and may I have extra cars?
- You may have two cars per campsite or cottage, but each car should have a car pass hanging on the rearview window.
- These are given with your reservation materials.
- We do not allow extra cars per site because we do not have enough parking space available.
- Extra cars may be permitted due to individual circumstances and events, but must be approved by management prior.
Do you have quiet hours?
- We do.
- Quiet hours are 11:00 pm – 8:00 am daily.
- Any guest under 18 years of age must be at their campsite or cottage during these hours unless accompanied by an adult.
Is WiFi Available?
- Please note that our campground Wi-Fi can be inconsistent at times due to a combination of environmental conditions, network congestion, and rural infrastructure limitations.
- While we do our best to provide reliable internet access, we cannot guarantee a steady connection at all times.
- If you require consistent internet for work or other important needs, we recommend planning ahead with one of the following options: Personal Hotspot from your cellular provider (check coverage before arrival), Mobile Hotspot Device fora stronger signal and reliability, Starlink Satellite Internet, if available for your setup

Safety First in Emergencies
- In the event of severe weather or emergencies, please head to a bathhouse or visit the Ranger Station for instructions.
- Please download the CampersAPP for up-to-date alerts.
- Carry a flashlight when walking at night, it’s a helpful habit (and makes fireflies easier to spot).

- Check-in time: 4:00 pm.
- Check-out time: 11:00 am.
- Please no check-ins after 10 PM.
- While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.
Deposit
- You can secure your reservation with a 50% deposit today, with the remaining balance due 30 days before your stay.
Wristbands
- All guests must wear the park-provided wristband.
- This shows us you’re a registered guest.
- You will not be allowed access to our amenities & attractions if you are not wearing your wristband.
- Guests without wristbands may be asked to leave, since we won’t be able to confirm they’re part of the fun.
Campfire
- Fires are welcome in the designated rings provided at each site.
- We keep it cozy, not crazy — bonfires or oversized flames are not permitted.
- Fire bans may go into effect during very dry conditions, based on guidance from local authorities.
- Firewood is available for purchase at the Ranger Station.
- Please don't bring outside wood.
- This is to help protect our trees.
- Hauling firewood, even a short distance, is a common way for invasive species to infest new locations.
- Color flame packs and fire starters are available at the store to make your evening glow.
Sharing the Outdoors with Wildlife
- Guests help protect the environment (and their snacks) by storing food properly and keeping campsites clean.
- Please don’t leave trash, food, or pet bowls outside overnight.
- Our staff will be around during open hours to pick up your trash.
Alcohol Use & Safety Guidelines
- Adults over 21 may enjoy alcoholic beverages at their campsite.
- If you’re walking around the park, please use a koozie or other non-descript container.
- Glass containers aren’t allowed in or near aquatic areas, safety first.
Visitors
- Visitors are welcome and must check in at the Ranger Station upon arrival.
- Fees may apply based on when they arrive and which activities they join.
- Visitors are expected to follow all campground rules and depart by 10:00 pm.
- Visitors must wear a park-provided wristband while on-site.
Keeping it Clean
- Gray water and black water must be emptied only at your site hookup or the dump station.
- Hoses must be properly fitted to prevent leaks or spills.
- Generators aren’t allowed; our full-hookup sites provide the power you need for a comfortable stay.
Children
- Kids have the most fun when a trusted adult is nearby, especially at the pool, lake, playground, and activities.
- Our guests always keep an eye on their little ones.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at water attractions.
- If your child is biking or scootering around the campground, helmets are a must, and traffic rules apply.
- Respect for others is a big part of the camping experience.
- Our guests are known for their friendly attitudes and family-centered fun.
Pets
- All pets must be leashed and attended; no solo adventures, please.
- This applies to pets left outside at your site as well.
- Remember to pick up after them to keep our park clean for all.
- Limit two pets per site unless otherwise approved.
- We kindly ask that pets remain outside of the pool and food service areas.
- Service animals are permitted throughout the park, including in all public spaces.
- While we love all pets, only animals that are individually trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability are considered service animals.
- For everyone’s comfort, service animals should remain under control at all times, on a leash or harness, or under voice command if necessary.
Sites & Parking
- For everyone's safety and enjoyment, please observe posted speed limits.
- One RV or tent is permitted per site, with a maximum of 8 guests.
- Park vehicles on the gravel pad if provided.
- Please don’t park in empty or neighboring sites.
- Personal golf carts are only allowed with a valid handicap placard and proof of insurance.
- No side-by-sides are permitted on the property.
Quite Hours

- Any guest under 18 years of age must be at their campsite or cottage during these hours unless accompanied by an adult.
Golf Carts
- Registered guests must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license present in their possession to drive a golf cart.
- Registered guests must keep golf carts on Great Escapes RV Resort Chesnut Bay property roads at all times.
- To help us keep our resort beautiful, please do not drive the carts on the grass.
- All golf cart renters are required to sign the Golf Cart Liability Waiver.
- Please note, prices are subject to change without notice, and all rates are subject to Federal and Local taxes.
- If any employee of Great Escapes RV Resort Chesnut Bay is witness to any misuse of the golf carts, we reserve the right to terminate the rental of the golf cart with no refund.
Tents
- Tents are only allowed in designated tent areas.
Prohibited
- To keep things safe and serene, we don’t allow personal golf carts, fireworks, firearms, drones, metal detectors, or vehicle repairs.
Fishing & Flags
- Alabama freshwater fishing laws apply and will require a fishing license in order to fish on the lake.
- Guests may proudly display U.S., state, local, military, first responder, or Great Escapes flags at their site.
Flags Permitted at Campsites
- At Great Escapes RV Resort Chesnut Bay, we are committed to fostering a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
- To maintain a consistent and family-friendly environment, we ask that guests limit flag displays at campsites to the following The American flag (displayed in accordance with U.S. Flag Code), State and local flags, Military and first responder flags (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, POW/MIA, police, fire, EMS), Great Escapes RV Resorts-branded flags.
Special Event Considerations
- Great Escapes RV Resorts may permit additional flag displays during themed celebrations or special events.
- Any temporary exceptions will be communicated in advance by resort management.
Policy Enforcement
- If a flag outside the approved categories is displayed, resort staff will provide a courteous reminder of this policy.
- Guests may be asked to remove non-compliant flags to maintain our shared community standards.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- We will return your deposit minus a $30 service charge if you cancel eight (8) or more days prior to your arrival date for tent sites or RVs and fifteen (15) or more days prior to your arrival date for cabins.
- If you cancel seven (7) days or less of your arrival date for tent sites or RVs, your full deposit is forfeited.
- If you cancel fourteen (14) days or less of your arrival date for tent sites or RVs, your full deposit is forfeited.
Holidays
- We will return your deposit minus a $30 service charge if you cancel thirty (30) or more days before your arrival date.
- We do not refund holiday deposits on cancellations made twenty-nine (29) days or less of your arrival date.
- Please make sure you schedule your holiday reservations carefully.
No-Shows
- Guests failing to contact us to cancel their reservation (with the required time, listed above) will be considered no-shows.
- No shows are subject to the same cancellation policies.
- Camping is an outdoor experience, and accordingly, we do not offer refunds due to the whims of Mother Nature.
- All Spot2Nite reservations require payment in full at the time of booking.
