Two Rivers Campground & Tubing

Royalton, Minnesota

112 RV Sites, 1 House

Two Rivers Campground and Tubing sits at 5116 145th Street Northwest in Royalton, Minnesota—a Morrison County family campground and river tubing outfitter on the Mississippi River and Platte River confluence in central Minnesota, where the Platte River's gentle current and accessible float corridor support the tubing operation that defines the campground's recreational identity. The Mississippi River setting in Morrison County, combined with the in-house tubing operation on the Platte, gives the campground a river-camping character that central Minnesota lake campgrounds cannot replicate. Full hookup RV sites with 50-amp electric service accommodate big rig travelers alongside basic electric and water sites, tent camping, and cabin rentals, providing accommodation options across the comfort spectrum. A resort-style swimming pool with two water slides, a beach on the river, mini-golf, canoe and kayak rentals, a full-service lodge, jumping pillow, corn hole, horseshoes, shuffleboard, Gaga Ball, volleyball, basketball, and planned activities create an on-property recreation environment comprehensive enough to keep multi-night guests engaged without requiring daily driving to external attractions. Showers, laundry, and the campground store handle the daily supply and hygiene logistics. The Platte River tubing operation is the signature activity — a relaxed, family-appropriate float on the gentle current of the Platte River with shuttle service transporting guests upstream to the put-in point for the downstream float back to the campground. Tube rentals, shuttle service included in the pricing, and a schedule of departures from midday through mid-afternoon make the operation accessible for guests of all planning styles, from those who arrive at opening to those who decide on a post-lunch tube trip. The minimum age and height requirements — 5 years old and 42 inches for unaccompanied riders, life jackets required for children under 10 — reflect the safety standards appropriate for the gentle Platte current rather than a whitewater context. The Mississippi River itself, flowing along the campground's Morrison County location, provides the fishing and paddling context of the upper Mississippi — a reach of the river above the Twin Cities metropolitan area where the river maintains more of its natural floodplain character and the walleye, northern pike, bass, and catfish populations are consistently productive. The upper Mississippi River corridor in Morrison and Crow Wing counties is increasingly popular for paddling and fishing trips in a stretch of the river less known than the Lake Itasca headwaters to the north or the metropolitan reaches to the south. Little Falls, the Morrison County seat, is a few miles south of Royalton and is the birthplace and childhood home of Charles Lindbergh — the Charles A. Lindbergh State Park and the Lindbergh House and History Center provide a meaningful historical destination accessible as a half-day trip from the campground. Two Rivers Campground and Tubing operates through the Minnesota camping season, typically May through September or early October, in the central Minnesota climate where summer delivers warm, humid days ideal for tubing and swimming and fall brings the hardwood color of the river bottom elm, cottonwood, and maple. The Brainerd Lakes region — Minnesota's most concentrated resort lake district — is about 45 minutes north, providing additional lake recreation options for guests who want to supplement the campground's river-focused experience with day trips to the Brainerd area's fishing lakes, resorts, and golf courses.
