Rice Ranch RV Park

Quartzsite, Arizona

155 RV Sites

In Quartzsite, Arizona—the desert community in La Paz County that transforms each winter from a small town of 3,500 permanent residents into a seasonal city of 200,000 snowbirds who converge on the Sonoran and Mojave Desert convergence zone for the gem and mineral shows, the flea markets, the BLM dispersed camping, and the warm, dry winter that makes the Quartzsite basin one of North America's largest and most unique seasonal gathering places—Rice Ranch RV Park offers full hookup sites with pickleball, a dog park, big-rig accommodations, and direct access to the vast ATV trail network that spreads through the surrounding desert in every direction from the town's outskirts. For winter RV travelers who come to Quartzsite specifically for the desert lifestyle, the mineral culture, and the social energy of the winter community, Rice Ranch provides the comfortable hookup base from which to access all of it. Full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer accommodate big rigs in a pet-friendly property that takes the ATV and off-road culture of the surrounding BLM desert seriously—the ATV trail network accessible from the Quartzsite area spans miles of rugged desert terrain through washes, rocky ridges, and the open Sonoran Desert that defines La Paz County's character. The on-site pickleball court provides the competitive social outlet that has become one of the defining amenities of the active snowbird community, and the dedicated dog park gives traveling pets the space they need in a desert environment where the surrounding terrain is too hot and too rocky for unstructured off-leash exercise during the warmer hours. Quartzsite sits at the junction of Interstate 10 and US Highway 95 in the broad desert basin between the Dome Rock and Plomosa Mountain Ranges, in a landscape where the geological richness of the southwestern desert—the quartz crystals, agates, jaspers, turquoise, and the full spectrum of lapidary material that the Sonoran and Mojave Deserts produce—has made the town the epicenter of the gem and mineral trading culture that concentrates here each winter from November through March. The surrounding BLM land, managed as the Quartzsite Long-Term Visitor Area, provides the free and low-cost camping that makes Quartzsite accessible to RV travelers at every budget level. The Quartzsite Sports, Vacation and RV Show in late January—commonly called the Big Tent—is the world's largest outdoor RV and outdoor recreation trade show, drawing vendors and visitors from across the country to a week-long outdoor marketplace that covers multiple city blocks. The smaller gem and mineral shows that run concurrently throughout January and February create the treasure-hunting atmosphere that gives Quartzsite its distinctive market character—a place where serious lapidary artists and casual collectors alike find material that the desert's geological wealth makes available. The Arizona desert's winter hiking, birding along the Colorado River, and the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge's desert bighorn sheep make the natural environment as compelling as the human culture. Rice Ranch operates through the Quartzsite season from fall through spring, with the January-February peak period when the gem shows and the maximum snowbird population create the community energy that defines the Quartzsite experience. Summer in the desert basin reaches 115°F and empties the town accordingly, making this a genuinely seasonal property aligned with the winter recreation and social calendar that Quartzsite serves. Reserve your hookup site at Rice Ranch and let Quartzsite's extraordinary desert winter—the pickleball, the ATV trails, the gem shows, and the warm Arizona sun—deliver the snowbird season you came looking for.
